In store retailer communication with shoppers...

... seemed to be a hot topic when everybody used to check in anywhere. Somehow, people stopped doing that. My personal opinion is that those who had checkin services, Foursquare for example, mis-managed the whole thing dramatically. Anyway, this will become a big topic again. Not necessarily checkin, but instore realtime retailer/shopper communication. Think of iBeacons, for example. And 74% of shoppers would be ok to get a push message from a store if it offers WiFi in return. (Guardian)
