Budweiser lets Twitter users decide MOTM at FIFA WC 2014

FIFA has some sponsors and all of them get to sponsor particular parts of the website or editorial areas, for example Castrol has an online game, Emirates presents the stadiums and destinations in Brazil, local sponsor Johnson & Johnson the fixtures and standings etc. - and Budweiser presents the "Man of the match", on Twitter known as #MOTM. Usually votes for man of the match happen on FIFA's website, but obviously this time Budweiser lets people vote with tweets. This will of course raise the number of interactions by a few thousand percent. On the other hand - it is jokes/memes/nonsense waiting to happen. Hashtags and trending topics can develop a very powerful dynamic.
